Health and Wellness Benefits

The University of Mississippi is dedicated to providing resources that support the health and wellness for all our employees. Employee participation in wellness program activities is supported by University leaders and is authorized by Mississippi Senate Bill 2646 of 2010 as can be found in the University’s Participation in Wellness Policy.

All services are available to benefits-eligible employees, and some are also extended to the employee’s family members; see below for information. University policy states that employees taking advantage of these on-site resources do not need to take personal time off to do so.

Employee Assistance Programs

We are pleased that as of June 1, 2022, the University offers two Employee Assistance Programs to provide confidential assistance to employees and their household members covering a wide range of family, marital, work-life challenges, and mental health issues: an on-campus counselor at the University Counseling Center and RebelWell’s supplemental employee assistance program through our partner, Deer Oaks EAP, which offers counseling, coaching, financial/legal assistance, work-life benefits, and more. Find out all about these important benefits here.

Employee Health Service

Employees can make an appointment at the University Employee Health Service to receive care for acute medical problems, physicals, wellness exams, immunizations and more. Visit their website for more information.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy services are available to University employees who need examination, evaluation, or treatment of sports-, recreational-, overuse-, and work-related injuries. The services focus on orthopedic based injury and rehabilitation. Find out more about this benefit here.

Registered Dietician

Red, Blue & Well, the University’s employee wellness program, offers private, one-on-one appointments with a Registered Dietician. Employees are eligible for up to two nutrition visits at no cost to discuss diet, create nutrition goals, and make positive dietary changes to meet those goals. Weight management, heart disease, diabetes, celiac disease, and other health conditions are just some of the issues that can be addressed in sessions with the dietician. Find more information about the services, our dietician, and how to schedule an appointment here.
