Types of Leave
The University of Mississippi recognizes that it is important and necessary for faculty and staff members to have time away from work. Leave benefits are a valuable asset to our employees by providing both financial compensation and accommodating family, professional and personal needs.
The University of Mississippi provides leave benefits in accordance with State Code, Federal Regulations, and IHL Board Policy. Types of Leave:
- Personal Leave for 12-month employees
- Major Medical Leave
- Leave of Absence
- Family and Medical Leave (FMLA)
- Emergency Family and Medical Leave (EFMEA)
- Donated Leave
Employees are not required to use accrued major medical or personal leave when receiving services at an on-site medical facility (Employee Health, Employee Assistance Program – EAP, physical therapy, dietician consultation, and speech & hearing).
