Hire Dates for New Staff Employees and Internal Staff Transfers
Effective June 19, 2024, offer approval forms must be received and approved at the latest ten (10) calendar days before the new hire’s agreed upon start date. If an offer approval is received after noon on Friday, the start date will be adjusted to the next available Monday. The new hire must attend Benefits Orientation on their Monday hire date. HR will communicate this information to the new hire.
Additional flexibility may be considered for internal hires/transfers. Please contact your HR Recruiter to discuss start dates that do not align with those listed below.

*The University does not allow new hires to start in December. As the operations begin to slow down in December, it is not responsible to hire a new employee who would also be entitled to the extended paid holiday break. Additionally, Human Resources has the responsibility of turning out two December payroll cycles under an extremely tight deadline to ensure the final payroll is processed and posted prior to the University closing.
