Employment – Hiring at the University
Personnel requisitions are processed online at jobs.olemiss.edu/hr. The site requires a username and password. Generally, each department has assigned an assistant as a the site’s administrator. If you require an account, contact email@example.com.
As a guest user, you will be provided access to review the applications and to the Search Committee Guidelines (including sample screening documents and letters) and a bank of potential interview questions.

Employment Office Hours
The Employment office is available to provide technical support for employment applications from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday – Friday. Members of the Human Resources team do not have any additional information about the status of the search. It is recommended that applicants do not call regarding the status of the employment application or search. We are unable to provide any information.
Please note: representatives are available via email Monday – Friday, during regular business hours. Our staff does not respond to emails at night or on weekends.
Mandatory Background Checks required for Staff and Faculty positions
Pre-employment background checks are mandatory for final candidates for both staff and faculty employment. Recent high-profile incidents, implementation of a new state law, and a need to apply the university policy consistently to both faculty and staff necessitate the implementation of a comprehensive background check policy as part of the hiring process.
