The Learning and Development area’s primary goal is to offer the University of Mississippi’s staff and faculty an opportunity for continual growth. Our seminars cover an array of topics to improve your professional skills and personal development.

Making the Commitment
These sessions are provided for your personal and professional development, but keep in mind that when you register you are making a commitment to attend. If you are not sure that you can attend, wait to register until you have checked your calendar for conflicts. Once you have registered, be sure to add the training workshop to your calendar and save the registration confirmation email for easy withdrawal access.

|10/08||LEAD: Lead Your Team (October 9th & 16th): Lead Your Team is a two and 1/2 day program designed to develop the skills necessary to supervise professionally and effectively. This is a core course highly recommended for employees with supervisory and people management responsibilities.

|10/23||LEAD: Lead Responsibly: The review of financial and administrative topics will empower leaders (department directors/chairs or signature authorities) to make accurate judgements and decisions, manage
resources effectively, and act with professional integrity.

|11/07||LEAD for Directors & Department Heads/Chairs (Nov 7th & 8th): The two half-day program is offered in partnership with the Office of the Provost and Department of Human Resources and is designed for directors at all levels, department heads, and department chairs (not just newly hired leaders) to enhance your understanding of leadership. This internal professional development conference includes topics to facilitate strong leadership behaviors within the parameters of the university policies, practices, and procedures. Attend the sessions as your schedule allows. Specific presentation titles and times will be available soon. Register today!
