The Learning and Development area’s primary goal is to offer the University of Mississippi’s staff and faculty an opportunity for continual growth. Our seminars cover an array of topics to improve your professional skills and personal development.

These sessions are provided for your personal and professional development, but keep in mind that when you register you are making a commitment to attend. If you are not sure that you can attend, wait to register until you have checked your calendar for conflicts. Once you have registered, be sure to add the training workshop to your calendar and save the registration confirmation email for easy withdrawal access.

10/10 LEAD: Lead Your Team (Fall Session - October 10, 17, & 24, 2017): Lead Your Team is a three day program designed to develop the skills necessary to supervise professionally and effectively. This is a core course highly recommended for employees with supervisory and people management responsibilities.

10/11 Road to Wellness: Know Your Numbers by RebelWell@Work ActiveHealth: Why are your biometric numbers important and how do you reach ideal ranges? We will discuss how to control and manage your weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar. Participants can opt to have body fat percentage measured by Onsite Coach via bioelectrical impedance. The coach will discuss body mass index (BMI) versus body fat percentage and the impact both measures have on health.

11/15 Blood Sugar Blues by RebelWell@Work ActiveHealth: Learn the basics of the growing epidemic of Diabetes and ways you can prevent or manage this condition. Also sample spirilized veggies and learn about other foods that are healthy, yet lower in calories and still taste delicious. Recipe handouts with food substitutions will be provided.

12/13 Battling Holiday Stress by RebelWell@Work ActiveHealth: Do you find December to be the most stressful time of the year?
